soon one morning a new site will replace this paper graveyard, with all works arranged by belonging, laid side by side in separate fields: from the earliest nerve garment and blood shard drawings of the 1980s; past saints, plants and animals; to the small landscapes and rescue emblems of today.
farewell for now.

the things of this world: snake.
it remains on the earth when it moves.
it is deaf and voiceless and has no eyelids.
it lives in silence
and appears unexpectedly.
it sheds its skin four times a year.
does not stop growing.
a snake can go anywhere.
it stays in a place alone.
being cold blooded it lives off the sun.
no one knows how long it is alive.
it has been here from the beginning.
it can disappear into the earth.
it digs in and around a garden.
it knows the underworld
and can bestow prophecy and immortality.
it still is nearly unknown.
cannot be driven out.
is constant.
